College Fanz Debuts America’s College Scoreboard for 2008-2009 College Sports Season : New Features & Enhancements for World’s Largest Online College Sports Community

(Business Wire EON/PRWEB ) August 19, 2008 — With practices and training camps already underway on many of Americas college campuses, the start of the fall sports season is only days away, and College Fanz Sports Network is ready with new features and enhancements to the worlds largest online college sports community.

Leading the way is the debut of Americas College Scoreboard, a breakthrough for every college sports fan in the world. Scores for every college athletic team are available in real time on Americas College Scoreboard.

News ImageCollege Fanz provides the platform to showcase the results for every team fielded by over 1,350 colleges and universities, including all NCAA and NAIA schools. The fall sports highlighted on Americas College Scoreboard include archery, cross country, equestrian, field hockey, rugby, soccer, water polo, volleyball and football.

Customized college pages include both formal and common school names, team nicknames, location, conference and division. Enhancements include school colors and mascots. News feeds directly from each college athletic web site are now available. Fanz’ discussions, videos and photos are prominently displayed and complete the college page.

Also, the customized sport pages include the fall sports played at each college and university, the schedules for each sport, and game stories from the Sports Information Director’s Virtual Pressbox As games, matches, meets and events are played; each Sports Information Director may post scores in progress, at the half or at the end of the event. They can include game notes about players, records, highlights, a rain delay or any other item of immediate interest. They can also include direct links back to their athletic web site for additional results.

College Fanz is the latest venture from Bill Rasmussen, the visionary who created ESPN. Now starting its second year, the web site boasts over 20,000 pages devoted to more than 1,350 colleges and universities throughout the United States competing in over 220,000 NCAA and NAIA athletic events.
